WIRELESS RETROFITTING, DESIGN & FABRICATION
Concord, NC
1,000,000 Gallon Hydropillar
With over 80,000 fans at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina, AT&T Wireless needed extreme enhanced service capability to keep up with texts, videos and selfies.

All America Services was contracted to assist in enhancing the existing service capability of the wireless carrier. We fabricated and installed structural supports necessary for two 5-foot diameter doppler antennas as well as the antennas themselves. Working in conjunction with the municipal's water department, the antennas were installed on a 500,000-gallon water tank adjacent to the stadium.
To power the huge dopplers, fifty-two radio heads and miles of coax cable were required. Access for the installation and maintenance of all this equipment called for a large galvanized mezzanine consisting of 24-inch wide-flange beams, spanning over thirty feet.
The mezzanine provided ample space for the large amount of equipment to be installed.
Ladders, stairs, platforms and handrails were designed and installed for safe and easy access to the equipment.
To service the antennas, portholes requiring heavy reinforcement were installed through the fluted tower shaft.
A service platform and access hatch were installed on the exterior of the fluted tower just below the doppler antennas. Portals with reinforcing bars were installed.
The two doppler antennas were winched into place.
