After discovering a weld that was completely cracked through the base plate of this 1,000,000-gallon hydropillar tank, All America Services was contacted by this water company to correct the problem.

In order to remove the crack completely, the old weld was removed in its entirety using the air-arc method. In preparation for this weld repair the base plate was also beveled to allow for 100% full penetration weld.

|
An access hole was cut through the fluted plate so that the base plate could be continuously welded all the way across.
|
|
|
|
The section of fluted plate that had been removed was also beveled prior to reinstalling it.
|
|
After the repair was made the area was power tool cleaned and epoxy painted.
