75,000 Gallon Pedestal Elevated Tank
All America Services was hired when the town of Milton, Delaware discovered they had a serious problem with the foundation under this 75,000-gallon water tank. High silica content in the concrete had caused it to deteriorate prematurely over the years and it was ultimately deemed unsafe.
The solution was to relocate the tank to a new foundation. The challenge was to make the move as quickly as possible in order to get the tank back on line with minimal down time. |

All America designed and constructed a new pile supported foundation approximately fifty feet from the existing foundation.
|
A rigging and lift plan was designed and fabricated by our in-house staff. With the help of a 300-ton crane, the 109-feet tall water tower was slowly lifted from its old foundation.

While suspended, workers cleaned the grout off the old base plate then slowly rotated the hanging giant to its proper orientation.
|
Before being lowered onto the new anchor bolts, a few anchor chairs were trimmed so it would fit the new foundation.

With the new foundation and piping constructed ahead of time, it only required one day to move the tank onto the new foundation and one more day to reconnect the piping so that the tank could be returned to service.
